Histopathological analysis of lacrimal tissue

Examining lacrimal (tear gland) tissue under the microscope could help us uncover the underlying cause of these cases. Veterinary ophthalmologist Professor David Williams at the University of Cambridge is leading this study, which is awaiting ethical approval. Once it's granted, if your dog is due to have surgery of any kind, you can give permission for a small tissue sample to be taken at the same time. No extra procedure would be needed, and taking part is entirely your choice.

This form goes directly to David Williams, Fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, who will be in touch to discuss if your dog is suitable for the study.
