Frequently Asked Questions
Still got a question?
Ask us anything. Really.
Our team is here for any question, even the ones that aren't about food. Our goal is to help dogs live longer, whether they're eating Years or not.
Years voluntarily recalled its Fresh Meals after receiving reports of dogs developing sudden, severe dry eye. The recall was introduced as a precaution while the reported cases and potential contributing factors are investigated. A cause has not yet been confirmed.
The recall covers all Years Fresh Meals. The Chef’s Collection is not included. Owners should follow the latest information on the Years care page for full details.
Owners should stop feeding recalled Years Fresh Meals, even if their dog appears well. If an owner has concerns about their dog’s eyes or reports new symptoms, they should be encouraged to arrange a veterinary assessment promptly.
Improve Veterinary Education has published guidance informed by two veterinary ophthalmologists with experience of these cases.
It covers ophthalmic assessment, treatment and monitoring considerations, protecting the ocular surface, managing complications and when referral may be appropriate.
If you have encountered a dog presenting with acute bilateral KCS, you can submit the case through BrAVO’s survey. Relevant cases should be reported irrespective of feeding history, as a broad range of information is needed to support a scientifically robust investigation.
