|
A frozen fruity treat your dog will love on hot summer days!
When the sun’s out and the start to temperatures climb, your dog deserves a refreshing treat that’s as good for them as it is tasty. These two ingredient frozen dog treats are incredibly simple to make, naturally delicious and packed with goodness.
Made with just two wholesome ingredients – Greek yoghurt and juicy strawberries – these frozen treats are perfect for keeping your pooch cool and hydrated, especially in the summer’s hot weather. They're also a great source of gut-friendly probiotics and vitamin C to help support digestion and immunity.
Best of all? It only takes five minutes to prep and you’ll have a stash of tail-waggingly good treats ready whenever your pup needs to beat the heat.
Table of contents
When dogs get hot, they can quickly become uncomfortable or even at risk of heatstroke. Keeping them cool with fresh water, shaded spots and chilled treats can make all the difference.
These two ingredient frozen dog treats are a naturally hydrating snack, ideal after a sunny walk or play session. Greek yoghurt provides a creamy texture that’s high in protein and supports your dog’s digestive health thanks to its probiotic content. Strawberries are naturally low in calories, with a healthy dose of antioxidants and fibre.
Step 1 – Prep your fruit
Chop the strawberries into small pieces or mash lightly with a fork. This helps them mix more evenly and makes the flavour pop in every bite.
Step 2 – Mix it up
In a small bowl, stir the chopped strawberries into the Greek yoghurt. Mix until well combined. If it’s quite thick, pop in a splash of water.
Step 3 – Pour and freeze
Spoon the mixture into silicone moulds or ice cube trays. Use fun shapes like hearts or bones if you have them. Just make sure that the moulds aren't too big to reduce the chance of choking! Place in the freezer overnight (or for at least 4–6 hours) until fully set.
Step 4 – Serve and enjoy
Pop a frozen bite out of the mould and serve it to your dog in a shaded spot. Watch them lick, crunch and savour their new favourite snack!
