Dog Friendly Cupcake Recipe

Perfect for birthdays, special occasions or just because - your dog will be wagging their tail in delight!

Making home-made dog treats doesn’t have to be complicated. These dog-friendly cupcakes are quick to make, use just a handful of store-cupboard ingredients and are a fun way to spoil your pup.

Dog Friendly Cupcakes

Cupcakes might not be the first thing you think of when it comes to dogs, but with the right ingredients, you can bake a safe, healthy, dog-friendly cupcake version that your pup can enjoy.

Instead of refined sugar and butter, this recipe uses wholesome staples like peanut butter, oats and honey. These ingredients not only taste great to dogs but also provide slow-release energy, fibre and natural sweetness.

Ingredients You'll Need

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 2 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • ½ cup oats
  • A splash of water

Optional

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (Gas mark 4).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, oats, peanut butter and honey.
  3. Add a splash of water and stir until the mixture forms a thick batter.
  4. Spoon the mixture into cupcake cases or a lightly greased muffin tray.
  5. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until golden and firm.
  6. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before serving to your dog.

If you want to decorate your dog-friendly cupcakes even more, mix the extra peanut butter with Greek yoghurt and use that as icing for your pupcakes. You can even top them with Brainy Bites for an extra flourish!
